Key Account Manager - On Trade

Job description

Reporting to the Senior Area Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing allocated outlets in the On-Trade Channel. They will be targeted at growing distribution and implementing brand activity to increase brand presence and achieve or exceed budget targets.


  • Develop new business while nurturing strong relationships with allocated existing account base ensuring customer satisfaction, loyalty and long-term partnerships
  • Develop business plans for each customer which are strategically aligned with the company’s objectives
  • Educate customers by growing brand awareness
  • Develop a structured call cycle ensuring at least 5 Sales Calls in outlets per day on average
  • Record CRM data on a daily basis to capture sales call, distribution and promotional activity data
  • Collaborate with Trade marketing team to implement promotional activity that is line with brand guidelines and drives brand performance and awareness
  • Be proactive to develop activity & programs with outlets outside of centrally produced activity
  • Achieve targets for distribution and cocktail listings in allocated outlets
  • Utilise depletion data to develop and manage allocated outlets and identify opportunities & weaknesses
  • Keep watch on competitor activity and relay to marketing and sales direction.
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales activity and pipeline planning for management




  • Experience in sales in FMCG, preferably experience in Sales in the Alcohol industry
  • Understanding of sales process dynamics
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and instil trust
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, understand their needs and close deals
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast paced environment and multi task
  • Having previous management of HORECA channel and F&B experience including high level cocktail knowledge would be advantageous
